People with real experience should be the ones getting visibility and access, not the bullshit artists who invest heavily in polished online personas but have nothing of substance to add.

A bit about me
I'm a writer.
I have a tendency to overly consume the things I like. If I find a show I love, I will rewatch it. If I find an artist I like, I will probably listen to them for weeks. I'm almost always listening to music, usually while doing something else, and I can spend an unreasonable amount of time noticing the little details in things I'm interested in.
I think that probably explains a lot about how I work.
I like staying immersed in things. Getting familiar with the details. Understanding how something works, why it works, what makes it distinctive and what could easily get lost if you aren't paying attention.
That's how I approach writing too.
I like getting close enough to a subject that I can write about it with some understanding, rather than just arranging the right words around it.
My work sits across writing, content strategy and communications, and I'm particularly interested in helping people and brands figure out what they have to say and how they want to say it.
This portfolio is a collection of some of that work.

You're not invisible. You're unsponsored.
Hi there, You probably do not need one more person giving you advice. You already have people who rate you highly. You are on the lists, the panels, the project teams. You mentor others, sit on selection committees, and get asked to "just take this on" because you are dependable. Yet when the bigger roles or cross-organization projects are decided, your name often does not make it to the final round. Most times, capa…

Your team is lying to you
Hi there, Let me tell you something uncomfortable: Right now, your team is lying to you. Not maliciously. Not even consciously. But they're softening bad news, hiding problems they think are "too small," and waiting until things are really broken before bringing you the truth. And the higher you climb, the worse it gets. When I was in college, my dorm room door wouldn't lock. I put in maintenance requests. Nothing. W…

Mentorship Malpractice
Mentorship can significantly improve a career. It can also derail one. Sometimes the harm is obvious. A mentor blocks you from collaborating or takes credit for your work. Other times it's slower and harder to name. A manuscript sits for months. Emails go unanswered when you need a decision. Difficult conversations get avoided, so expectations stay vague until resentment shows up. In my conversation with [guest] we t…
